#melee is the place where most of the day-to-day action happens for the POS community. It is where most of the active community members hang out and have a good time when they should be out making friends in the real world. If anyone intends to visit #melee who is not a regular, they best not bring any children.
#melee is the cool place to hang out. You can find most of the cool people there. In #melee you can just chill and do whatever and totally relax. "Take it easy" is the #melee motto, for example, that's how laid back it is there. Show up if you want to have a good time. Another good reason to show up is if you want to hang out with friends.
Super Smash Bros Melee? We never heared of that game, sorry.
Rules
#melee has some rules, though. It's really basic netiquette, but here they are, in all of their mangled glory:
- Don't be stupid for the sake of being stupid. We really like it when we can talk without people being idiots.
- Sometimes, we can act spammy for the sake of being spammy. If you're new, don't start this trend; wait until you've been around for a while. Then you can start a SPAM wave.
- Don't ruin our fun. We have a laid-back style here at #melee, so don't be a downer and rain on our parade.
- We may not seem it, but we're usually serious about whatever we're talking about when we talk about it. If you can tell the difference between when we're serious and when we're being a bunch of loonies, don't try to change the mood. We appreciate the Tao of Conversation; the fact that it can change on its own.
- Don't flood, please. If you're new, you'll usually be seen as just a total newb with no netiquette when you flood, and no one will like you.
- Don't swear excessively. We may seem like a bunch of sailors at times, but don't start out if you're new as one.
- No illegal/gross material. No linking to ROMs, shockers, hentai. We're all old enough to handle it, we just don't want to.
After a while we usually lower our standards, so you can get away most of the time when you've been around for a few months or so. Save for the last, you'll be able to do that stuff in time. But we're strict about no illegal/gross material. If you can't handle the rules, go to #mother or something.
